EXOTIC SMOOTH STRUCTURES ON 3CP#nCP
We construct exotic 3CP#11CP 2 and 3CP#13CP 2 using the surgery techniques of R. Fintushel and R.J. Stern. We show that these 4manifolds are irreducible by computing their Seiberg-Witten invariants.

We show that the exotic 4-manifolds with b+2 = 3 and b − 2 = 8 constructed by A. Stipsicz and Z. Szabó in [SS2] are simply connected. As a corollary, we conclude that a topological 4-manifold 3CP ♯8CP 2 admits infinitely many distinct smooth structures.
